Anybody know good sources for a 'monthly forecast'?  I'm off to the Isle of Anglesey for a week on the 8th august, principally to watch perseids from dark skies and are curious what the weather Gods have in store for me.

I know the BBC do a monthly forecast but i'm sure there must be others out there.  Any you folk can help with some suggestions?

Thanks, Mark Smiley

You can be pretty sure that any conventional forecast more than 5 days ahead is no better than random noise. Seasonal trends forecasts are if anything even worse.

In the UK, in July & August, you can be 95% sure that:

1. The Sun will shine for at least a few minutes on most days

2. Rain will fall on at least a few days

3. There will be a breeze but violent winds are not likely

4. The daily maximum temperature will be between 15C and 35C, and the daily minimum temperature will be between 5C and 20C
