At one stage in the afternoon some showers developed and this line of peculiar looking Mammatus formed on the edge of one. Only got a couple of quick images as it was drifting across the sky so quickly, in fact it was gone after about five minutes. I hadn't the time to pick and choose the photographic angles I'm afraid, so this was taken from the back step!

Very nice capture John, and quick reactions with the camera!. Seen a similar scene here today also. There where several heavy showers around Ballymena which soaked the roads while the roads outside the town where bone dry. Some of the rain curtains looked fantastic. Seen Mammatus from Maghera, and as you mentioned, they drifted away quite fast.
