Sadly it ended far too soon, but I did manage a good look at the Moon this evening, and Saturn too...

Saturn

Saturn overexposed with Titan

And I just grabbed one of the Moon before the clouds interrupted play - this is the Copernicus region

Oh yes, the technical details, always forget to do that! Skywatcher 130PM 650mm reflector, Toucam 740, EeePC901, WxAstroCapture, Registax 4. Each capture is 200 frames approx at either 5 or 10 fps.

I have both v4 and v5 of Registax and I've had some blurred results from v5 even though the input frames have been OK - as if it's not actually tracking through the turbulence properly, so sticking with v4 until I figure out what I haven't set properly.

The 130PM is a recent acquisition - cost very little and is capable way beyond its price.

Interesting, I've found that v5 is rather easier to get sharp results from. Also v4 was a bit buggy on my setup, v5 seems bombproof.

The clearance you had never materialised here, gradually thickening As, now raining steadily.

I still have v3 and have not as yet found the need to upgrade!

I was hoping against odds for a clearance as well but it never came.

I've had much better success and more consistent results with v5.
