The most boring weather here lately caused me to wait almost a week and a half before being able to use my new lens, a sigma 10-20mm. No storms, atmospheric phenomena, or clear night skies! I finally just went downtown, cause I knew I could find stuff to shoot down there. The full report will be located here when it is complete... http://www.tonightssky.org/accounts/050109.html

Nothing real spectacular, but at least its a use for the wide angle

The first one is cropped a bit, but this one is at the full 10mm

Definitely can't wait to get on some storms with this lens!!  Grin

Tyler, I love them all. That really is a beautiful lens. Like the car trails in the first one and the sense of height in the 3rd. Very impressive!. Hope you get a storm soon to try out the lens on a big shelf  Smiley

As amateur astronomers we naturally curse light pollution but it can make for some lovely nightscapes as you've shown here Tyler. You've caught some lovely colours there and I like the speeding cars effect, too. However the angles that you've taken the shots with is probably the icing on the cake IMO.

Tyler those are great images, I'm playing catchup here! I like them all but the one with that big arch stands out for me, it looks very special and old as well. You got that one spot on with the street light's hidden and shining on those trees, it's a beauty. Who's the lad? is he a relative?

Hi John,

Thanks! I think I like the arch images the best as well. Street lights are definitely the biggest challenge in urban night photography. I'm the one in the picture btw, just in case you guys didn't already know, I'm still considered "young" lol.

Full report is now up... http://www.tonightssky.org/accounts/050109.html

there are FOUR new images in the report.

Thanks again all.
