Steven, that's really cool. For a first attempt that's excellent!. Nice convection there and a few distant showers. What date was that?

Well I must have inspired you pretty good then, as that's excellent! Well done.
I have a project on the go at the moment that will take ages - we have a Horse Chestnut tree outside the office that is just beginning to change colour so, a picture a day for the next couple of months - same location, same focal length - ought to make a nice film!

That's fantastic Steve, wonder how it would look with the night sky? There's maybe a project there for you if you get the sky clear for long enough!

Thanks John for your comment, I'm still learning so I'll try day shots until I get better! But it is worth a thought...

John, I have it in mind to do a nighttime timelapse - just as soon as the clear nights return!

I'd be happy just to see clear skies again!
I have an intervalometer for my A700 which is one of the most user unfriendly devices ever, but it works and I think I've just about got the hang of it - it's quite a bit more capable than the basic intervalometer in my bridge cameras and the A700 is much better suited to night work in just about every way, so roll on crystal clear autumn nights!
