There was another display here last night (thanks Jonathan for the call) which started about midnight and then died somewhat. However, at 02:45BST I noticed quite a few bands in the NE and decided to go runabout! Nomatter where I went I couldn't seem to get shelter from the strong breeze shaking the tripod but did get a few passable shots. The image below was taken at 03:09BST. That's Venus in the midst of the NLC's,while directly above just below the cloud is the Pleiades and to the right between the two is Mars.

Spotted very weak NLC display last night from 00.30-02.30 BST, it was a very sorry affair and no more than 5-7 degrees altitude at its highest. Type 3 bightness with bands and small scale whirls, white in colour. Observed in a clear but murky sky.

Glad you're managing to sneak some observations in Martin.  This year, from a personal point of view, is one of my worse years in terms of number of displays seen - combination of weather, various factors I guess...  Still, there's still a bit more life left in the season yet so hopefully I should see a few more  Roll Eyes

Oh yes!  I can confirm the same from west mids, it's a beast!  Cool

Various observations confirmed from various places in europe too!

If you're reading this, and it's clear where you are, get yourself outside and check it out!

Best for a good couple of weeks!  Grin

Very bright extensive display, went down almost to the horizon at local midnight (0120 BST), lots of interference from tropospheric cloud in the morninig twilight but NLC obviously still present.
