Got a pair of Goldfinches on the feeder a couple of days ago, shot through the kitchen double glazing and cropped, 250mm ain't enough to fill the frame even at 15 feet with these little things.

Well done John.
Your right, such small targets are always hard to get, but you've done a good job there, especially shooting through the double glazing.

Gorgeous images John. The first is a crowd pleaser. You wouldn't think those were shot through a window. Great stuff.

Thanks guys. Shooting through the window is surprisingly simple to remove the issues. Get in close to the glass and it only affects contrast a bit, has very little effect, if any on focus. It's almost like having a UV filter on the end of the lens, only a bit thicker  Grin... A good squirt of contrast and definition/clarity (localised contrast I think) in raw processing job done.

Love the last one    Smiley Both peeking round at you. Great shots, John, wish we saw them here- must be because it's warmer down there (maybe ??)
