Well sort of... I've made an adapter that turns the output of my Jessops 300AFD into a ring flash, well sort of anyway... Made using a cardboard box, cut lined with white paper and angled. Then attached to the CD spindle lid with a hole cut in it and lined with white paper. Completed with a liberal application of Duck Tape. I fit the ring to the lens, then onto the cover onto the flash.

Here's a shot of the actual ring adapter. Shot with the Z2, the 450d is in use, trying to sort out guiding.

And some test shots with the ring flash, 55-250 and Raynox DCR250

and this one had very little light shining on it, made getting focus tricky

Well stickyback plastic is in evidence  Wink

But the results speak for themselves - quite excellent, most notably the coin shot which is fantastic. I assume the flash metering sorts itelf out too?

Cheers Guys... I think I might be a little old for a Blue Peter badge  Grin...

Paul, I've found that I get the best results if I use +2 stops of flash compensation, I guess the bounce around the tubes reduces the flash brightness, but the ettl metering does indeed do it's stuff nicely.

Great idea and well executed. It certainly seems to do the trick. Might have a go at this myself.
