Wide M51 - First proper guided DSO

Yay!!!... Guiding Works...

The tweaks I found sorted it out. I went a bit OTT just to see if it would work as expected and yes it does 

5 x 1200 seconds (20 minutes  )
450d on C80ED
Guided with a DSI1C on the Konus Vista 80s using PHD

3 scaled darks, 5 flats and Bias frames.

It's a bit noisy, but it's short of subs, but that's ok, it means it's all working well.

Cheers John, I got a load more data 11x10 minutes to add in last night, and I'm going to get another nights worth. The downside to guiding is the additional power requirements, that's not powering the lappy or cameras, just the mount ....
