I was doing a 4 mile walk through Glen Shane forest outside Maghera last week with my Dad and was surprised to see some snow and ice still on the ground which contrasted very nicely with the green trees. Here's a few shots. I was also amazed at the evidence of a recent severe flood and the number of large flattened trees when the Jan 17th wind storm hit. I really should have taken images of the damage because I couldn't believe the extent of the devastation. Might go back up again.

I'll have to tell you again Martin, it's amazing how much the area looks like Oregon. I could swear I'm about 1 mile from my house in those images. The last image is incredible, very haunting. I think I can pretty much guess what direction you're facing.

Thanks very much Roman and Richard. I have thought the same thing Richard when looking at your convection images and the foreground below. Not only the clouds, but the terraint, mountains, and forests look very similar to here. I think I would feel very much at home in Oregon  Smiley

Some excellent shots Martin. Like Richard I especially like that last one. 10/10 for composition.
