I saw a plane fly near the moon, then the vapour trail started to disperse in a very weird way.... So I took a couple of shots

Good catch . I wonder what causes that ? It must have something to do with the nature of the exhaust , maybe a concentration of fuel  droplets ?

Thanks John. I'd put it down to something atmospheric, no clue as to what though, as there were a number of planes leaving trails that were dispersing like this. This one caught my eye the most given the way the sun was reflecting from it and how close to the moon it was.

Those are very unusual looking contrails John. Would love to know what causes that shape too. Thanks for the sharing those with us.
