After seeing some amazing shots of Iridium flares, I built myself a little AltAz camera pointer for capturing the elusive things. Anyway, here's a couple of shots.

And this one took a lot of patience waiting for the prediction (first one several months ago was spoilt by cloud)

Thanks Paul. The Z2 was, well still is, a great little camera, and mine is still used regularly, although no longer by me... I nearly went for the Sony because of my experiences with the Z2, but the extra cost over the cost of the 450d was just too much. I'll post up some of my shots shortly.

My name is John, I too found this forum through the link Paul posted on Astro Chat. Andy, I'm not following you around  Grin honest guv  Grin. I've been taking photos with a Z2 bridge camera for a few years, some of them, probably came out quite well for simple snaps. I got into Astronomy last October after helping my son look at the moon through a pair of bins for a project he was working on. This led onto a much greater interest in Photography, and I was given a dSLR for my birthday. I've now just started combining the hobbies and taking prime focus images of targets that can't be seen unaided.
