just observing my first NLC display, and what a cracker it is! have taken a few pics, lets see how they turn out, cloud is starting to obscure the view now, will have another venture outside later on!

lightning in belfast at 11.30 this morning. all is quiet at the moment, just a continuing shower

just semi clear skies with some cumulus floating around down in the lisburn area  Sad  fingers crossed we might get something later.

fingers crossed! its just a steady shower and overcast here at the minute, still very warm and humid though!

yea i spent a good bit of time going through the site today (when i was supposed to be working) the thought of seeing it all for real has the excitement going already!  im going from  the 30th may - 10th june 2010, deposit getting paid first thing in the morning! Its going to be an experience of a lifetime i reckon!

Hi folks, taking my interest in the weather a step further! deposit going down on friday for a chase tour from 30th may - 10th june 2010! a year away but it wont be long coming in! Firing in a 12 week course in meteorology aswell! All i need to do now is wait! lol  Smiley

didnt get much action over belfast today, back in lisburn at the minute and can see a lovely cb, quite a bit in the distance but could still see it bubbling up into a nice anvil which is surprising for this time of the evening! wouldnt be surprised if there was a spark or 2 from it!

Hi folks, intense rain, sizeable hail and some lovely lightning over the belfast area today! constantly nipping outside of work to get a look, first decent storm ive seen in ages, was well worth the wait!!!

those images are fantastic! cant get over the fact of that anvil being the size of northern ireland!! As far as my images go from the other day, they were non existent, too blurry with the wind and the rain getting on the lens and i think the water has got inside the camera aswell, cant get it to switch on  Sad

Just seen it on estofex aswell, im sure there would be some action going on underneath that thing! how wide do u reckon it would be?
