severe fog in the lisburn area, visibility <100m. Hasnt shifted all day!

Was in Belfast and it was -1, gradually crept down as i left the city then just as i arrived back in lisburn the car read -7!!! The snow hasnt thawed one bit, even with the gritters making 2 passes down my street today!!!

I would have been expecting some hail myself but got a downpour of epic proportions with gusty winds, dazzling lightning and a nice shelf cloud,, there was some rotation with the scud going in all different directions but nothing lowered down from it. I was very impressed with what i seen overall, today was definately the best storm day i have had this year, i was talking about travelling to a different location but im glad i stuck it out in Belfast! Now for a walk home in the rain........

it was the same here, the lightning was crazy, had never seen such bright, dramatic strikes before, followed by deafening thunder! its passed now but fingers crossed there will be more to come !

Hi Guys,, although its a good bit of time away im trying to make some preparations for my trip next year and one of the main things i need is a new camera,, unfortunately this is one area where i havnt really got a clue in regards to brand, reliability, quality etc. I want to get something decent that would withstand the weather and could take decent video and images but not cost a bomb, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks very much Martin, had a brief storm in Belfast earlier,, it just about bypassed me but still got a good electrical show from to cells side by side to each other! Glad you got a good days action!

i think ive just broke my camera, was trying to get a good capture of the lightning then there was a huge ic bolt right above the house,, the thunder was instantaneous and damn loud! and the camera flew out of the hand as i was jumping out of my skin!! completely took me by surprise!

unfortunately not,,everyday there has been some action i have been in work,, im constantly having to nip outside to get a quick look to see whats happening, the main area of rain just missed me but it looked very nasty over towards black mountain! it all seems to be dissipating now, but a lovely sight all the same! any action over your direction?
