These are just class, agree with Anton here the location is stunning and the castle is a great subject. Its probably worth the 140mile+ round trip from Omagh, id really like to shoot it under moonlight, not a full moon but just bright enough to light up the scene maybe- it will have to be arranged

Thanks everyone, could be the chance of something interesting tomorrow alright Martin-i will be keeping an eye on things as always Yes John 2, 3 & 4 all at 11mm. What i have noticed with this lens is very little distortion compared to other wide angles on the market although most of these are 10mm at the wide end. I sacrificed that 1mm for the constant 2.8 aperture for night work and cant wait to try it out on future meteor showers and other stuff

General Category / Weather & Atmospherics / Convective Outlook UK/Ireland - Tue 7th June 2011

As per earlier forecast with a sustained risk for stronger convective development from north central to northern regions UK. GFS pushes upper trough east much faster now with a very dry mid level incursion from the south. Cloud tops will likely cool very rapidly adding upward velocity to any parcel making its LFC. With strong updrafts likely and strong bulk shear mid levels we can expect mid level mesocyclones to develop within the stronger storm cells. Restricted CAPE's will be compensated by strong sustained updrafts delivered by other forcing perameters. This together with a low freezing level could well develop some larger sized hail reports! Certainly one to watch for! Credit: Tony Gilbert

John ive just been through the entire thread and all i can say is wow. You really had a great storm chase and have brought back some top notch images, the lightning, wall clouds, funnels, sunset convection, tornado damage, gust fronts and not to mention the huge tornado crossing the road. You've seen it all and brought it all back for us to enjoy in this great thread, really appreciate the work you have put into it as well. The last series of shots are stunning with the reflections in the rice fields and then the monster wall cloud almost touching the ground-very impressive. I only hope one day i can follow in your footsteps and experience a chase in the plains. That sigma 15mm fisheye is a nice addition to the kit John, great for getting the entire storm structure into the frame
