Title: Mag 2 Comet in 2013?
Post by: markt on June 13, 2011, 11:32:35 pm
Found this article >>>  http://www.global-rent-a-scope.com/gras-monthly-heads-up/2011/6/9/coming-attraction-comet-c2011-l4-panstarrs.html  Would be nice if it did reach mag 2, seems like ages since we had a bright comet, we must be due one!!!

As I have seen it on the web, the orbit of comet C/2011L4 (PANSTARRS) is still being adjusted. But the most recent ephemeride provides the prospects of maximum +0.8 mag during sping 2013. Oh, wow, I'd be glad to see something brighter than 17P/Holmes!  :D

I'm excited by it too! This one has potential and we certainly are long overdue.  Would be good if it did deliver :)
