Two images taken today before sunset with the 400mm. For the first I held a sheet of astro solar filter over the objective to pick up two sunspot regions. The lower one is 1156 which is the source of the recent M and X-class flares and radio blackouts. The next image is without the filter when the sun lowered into the haze.

I'll have to take a look at this at work Martin - i'm having big issues seeing Tinypic images. Apparently, reading around the web it's an issue caused by my router (of all things!), seems there's quite a few folk having this issue aswell  >:(

Nice images Martin!  At work now so can see them - they are certainly are big sunspots, just wish I had some clear skies to view them in the flesh!  :)

Thanks Mark - clear skies are getting to be a major problem now, not looking good for the next few nights for aurora anyway  :(
