Title: Winter Wonderland Post by: JohnMurphy on December 02, 2010, 12:58:00 pm Here are some shots from Sat / Sun in Dublin. We've had tons of snow since, we're currently buried under about 14" in Firhouse at the foot of the mountains. I hiked from my house up to the top of Mt. Pelier (Hellfire Club) on foot as there was no way my car could get up there.

Mother Nature has certainly provided a wonderful backdrop for plenty of photo opportunities.
Thanks Title: Re: Winter Wonderland Post by: rjgjr on December 02, 2010, 04:14:10 pm Great set of photos John. I too like the valley shot framed with the snowcovered trees. That one swan looks like he's laid out for Christmas dinner.

Title: Re: Winter Wonderland Post by: JohnC on December 05, 2010, 12:16:40 pm Love the trees shot - great framing. The mute swans are exquisite. What a wonderful capture. That will be mother (pen) and cygnet- The cygnets will lose that camouflage brown colour very soon. I'd love to get a shot of the cygnets when hitching a ride on the back of one of the parents soon after hatching. As we both seem to be within reach of swans,John, maybe it could be a goal for us next summer. The pond I go to still has the seven (unbelievably) cygnets with the parents but they'll be shoed off soon to fend for themselves in their own territory.
