Title: Passing Snow Cell Post by: martinastro on November 30, 2010, 11:07:23 pm A few snaps from the afternoon of Nov 26th when I saw a very large cell moving down the E side of the country over Co. Antrim from N to S, earlier it had been over the N Atlantic Ocean (perhaps producing sferics) then turned into a snow making factory once it hit the cold air inland. It dumped quite a bit of snow as it moved through before falling apart and even had a nice mammatus display at the back at one stage. Taken from Maghera with cell moving L to R - got to love cold air convection and snow.

When i look at them again the second is my favourite with the brilliant structure and the snow capped mountains-a first taste of what was to come! :)

Title: Re: Passing Snow Cell Post by: JohnC on December 01, 2010, 11:15:15 am We're getting a wonderful variety of weather phenomena lately- well below zero temps. heavy snow, heavy hoar frosts TS cells with mammatus, you have to wonder what's next, it's certainly keeping us all on our toes and making for great photo ops.
