Title: NGC 7635 The Bubble Nebula
Post by: Carl O Beirnes on September 07, 2008, 11:18:42 pm
Hi All,

Hope you are all keeping well.

Here is an image I started last night NGC 7635 The Bubble Nebula through a William Optics FLT-110 Triplet APO refractor Atik 16Hr cdd camera. Guided with a Celestron 80ED And Sac 4.2 CCD camera with PhD guiding software On a CGE mount. Processed in Images Plus V3.5 and Photoshop CS2 exposures where 30 X 5 Min subs 150 Min exposure in H Alpha. I must say I'm Very happy with 110mm FLT. Lets hope we get some more clear nights so I can get some colour for this image.

Really nice image - I'm sure you're well chuffed.

Ummm, don't want to upset the party by interference from a back seat driver, but if you had the sort of sky I had last night I would have thought that it would have been a good night to take images other than narrow band Ha - the point being that narrow band Ha imaging can be done in bright moonlight. Here, last night was unusually transparent, so there would have been less interference than usual with broadband B & G images - just what you need for "true" colour imaging.

Hi Brian,

The skies last night where great  And I did get the Green & Blue colour for a different image  I'm doing  also. The other imaging I'm doing is  Melotte-15 IC1805 in the Constellation of Cassiopeia hoping to post this image here soon in full colour. Hope this answers your question.

Carl, absolutely stunning!. The image has such intense depth and 3-d like structure. The bubble itself really jumbs out of the image!. Looking forward to the colour version to.  :)

Hi all,

Thanks a lot for all your comments  I am very impressed with this image first time I got a full night clear to work and push the equipment for hours on end.

Carl.

Hi Carl, hope you're keeping well too!

That is one stunning image - again, monochrome bringing out detail that can so easily get lost in colour.

Thanks for sharing.

Paul.
