Title: Recent Storm Images
Post by: Danny Power on September 24, 2010, 10:57:23 pm
Hey Guys,

I havent been on here in a while but I have had a couple of decent convective days since the start of September so I thought I would share a few with you guys :) Sadly though the lack of wheels means most of these have been taken through my bedroom window so the quality is pretty poor

Thanks for sharing these Danny, those look like great cells in your area, one can see their huge size in relation to their distance, those explosive towers look very meaty indeed and would have had me staring out with camera at the ready. Like the big anvil and big inflow lowering which looked to be trying to drop something. 3rd image from the bottom looks very atmospheric. Once you get wheels you will be getting your dream shots!  :)

Cheers Martin. They were pretty impressive cells, obviously the images are poor due to being taken from my bedroom window, I just thought I would share the views I have been getting recently. Most of the cells produced heavy rain and thunder which is good :) 3rd image from the bottom was the cell which produced the evening lightning the other night :) As for the wheels, my car is now running, many hours of hard work have paid off and she runs like a dream, I just need to sort the exhaust, brakes, handbrake and a few spots on the body work then she can go for the MOT :) Hopefully I will get some better images over the coming months Cheers mate :)

That must have been very, very frustrating,Danny because that convection is very impressive. Even so, good to see it  from the house and a nice stitch too.

Cheers John.

It was very frustrating, but it has been the story of my year so far when it comes to storms lol

Very nice pano Danny which really puts the convection in perspective!, the towers and cells look so much bigger in relation to the sky-building compo. The stitching will come in handy for future events  :)

Cheers Paul and Dave  ;D

Lets hope next time I can get a better foreground and the bases of the cells aswel  instead of the houses and rooftops
