Title: Salmon Derby Day Post by: rjgjr on August 29, 2010, 04:56:30 pm Salmon fishing is a very big deal here on the Southern Oregon Coast. Yesterday was the Fall Chinook Salmon Derby here in Gold Beach.
Early morning Sun and fog on the Rogue River (http://i36.tinypic.com/k3ls7b.jpg) I count about 50 boats gearing up for the start. I have seen photos from the Spring Chinook Opening Day about 20 years ago where you could literally walk across the estuary on boats (http://i35.tinypic.com/atkjv5.jpg) No this isn't me. This was the then world record King Salmon of 71.5 lbs caught in 2002 here in Gold Beach (http://i38.tinypic.com/35ltawg.jpg) Title: Re: Salmon Derby Day Post by: JohnMurphy on August 29, 2010, 05:17:06 pm Excellent sunrise shot Richard.
