Title: Hi all
Post by: STEVE GROOME on August 14, 2010, 05:43:03 pm
Hi all,

good to to join another weather site again.Been a weather nut since the awesome winter of 1962/3 when I was 9 years old.Think that winter fired my interest in the weather. Was a member of another weather site for about 8 years where I was science and climate moderator for a while, and used to put out winter forecasts around Sept/Oct.

Looking forward to discussing this fascinating subject.

Welcome to the forum JETBLACK, we do like first names. You will find this forum very well suited for your needs as I'm sure you have already seen. I'm a bit out of the loop weatherwise from the main group being from Oregon in the States, but I sure enjoy what's ever talked about on the site. Have fun and and post lots of photos. A lot of us use Tinypics to post photos but whatever you like is fine. Nice to meet you.

Hi Richard,

thanks for the welcome.

Living in the UK, we do have interesting weather to say the least.

Welcome Steve - good to have you on board.  :)

I was very interested in your comment on making forecasts. If it's not too long-winded or technical, how do you actually go about making these forecasts? Of course the UK is certainly not the easiest of places on the globe to make forecasts for at the best of times!

Very much look forward to your participation here as & when.

Enjoy!  :)

Welcome on board Steve!, great to have another passionate weather observer on here, look forward to your discussions, images etc, especially with the next Winter not far away in the future. It's great to have someone who recalls the big snow falls of 1962/3  :)
