Title: A different Moon
Post by: paulster78 on January 31, 2010, 06:36:51 pm
I noticed the moon skirting the rooftops last night and thought id try for a few images. It was a bit trial and error with various settings and my camera zoomed all the way out. (its 18x optical zoom so im not sure of the equivalent in mm) No great detail on the moon but I wasn't looking for that-anyway thought id share a few here.

Those look very atmospheric to me Paul, and not too far away from a Halloween scene. The warm colours of the corona look great too. - Great job.

Very dramatic shots Paul, well done.
Trying to get focus on dark objects in the dark is tough alright, my 500mm lens was under and over shooting the mark also, I eventually switched to manual and just hoped I had it.

Very nice shots Paul, I like them...

The focal length of the first one was 80mm, and I'd suspect that it has the same crop factor as my Z2, about 6x, so 480mm equiv fl.

Cheers for all the feedback guys, John had a quick look online there for a review of my camera and your spot on as the max focal length is 504mm equivalent and I was holding back a little to prevent possible distortion.  :)
